Grease Guardian grease removal unit and grease trap

Cookie dough is a much loved snack but one local authority in the Mississippi area is not as keen on the treat.  A water service company has reported a number of blockages in the area as a result of cookie dough being washed down the drains.  The cookie dough waste is thought to be from local businesses that are not removing the excess dough from equipment before washing.

This is a very similar problem that restaurant experience if they do not have a grease trap installed.  If a kitchen used Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) when cooking the waste will be washed down sinks and drains if no kitchen practices are in place.  Restaurants and businesses that have catering kitchens should install and maintain a grease trap.  Overflows, repairs and back-ups are a symptom of a blockage in the sewer system.  It is estimated that over 80% of blockages are FOG related.

GREASE TRAPS

Grease Guardian has a wide range of waste management products to help kitchens of all sizes.  The automatic grease trap range automatically separates and removes FOG waste from kitchen waste water and is easy to install and maintain.  More information of the product range can be found on our website.
